Victorian Nun's Cross Rosary

(SOLD)

Here's a rare antique French sterling silver corrugated bead rosary with an antique Victorian engraved sterling silver Nun's cross.

This rosary is stunning right down to the sterling silver spun filigree rosary center.

This Nun's cross is engraved in French, 15 Aout 1855, E.Leleu de Marie Assosiation. (15 August 1855). Also engraved are 2 hearts, one pierced by a sword, the other a cross.

A small enamel Miraculous Mary medal delicately suspends from the rosary.

Antique Sacred Heart Meerschaum Reliquary

(SOLD)

Here's one of the most beautiful and rare carved religious French meerschaum reliquaries I've seen in a long time and now listed at Metal Corset II.

This carved meerschaum reliquary highlights a veiled Mary kneeling in prayer holding a Flaming Heart wrapped in a crown of roses.

It is very rare to find a Flaming Heart held in the hand versus a Flaming Heart on the chest.

Absolutely exquisite period piece behind convex glass. The brass frame is engraved in a paisley floral scroll design and is further accentuated by twisted brass.

Le Sacre Coeur de Marie (SOLD)

My most recent creation, Le Sacre Coeur de Marie.

From an antique lace holy card, an assemblage of the Sacred Heart of Mary is captured inside an antique two sided Victorian sterling silver paste locket. The reverse has an image of The Sacred Heart of Mary wrapped in a crown of roses.

The locket suspends from an antique Victorian sterling silver bangle. The bracelet is further embellished with an antique Miraculous Mary medal and flaming heart ex voto.

ANTIQUE FRENCH NOTRE DAME RELIQUARY

I recently found this beautiful French iconic reliquary detailed in several fleurs de lis. The doors open to reveal Miraculous Mary in a long flowing gown holding a rosary. The top has N and D for Notre Dame (French for Our Lady) and a crown. It measures 2.5" tall. What a superb 19th century relic.

STIGMATA

"I bear on my body the marks of Jesus," taken from the last line of Saint Paul's letter to the Galatians.

Stigmata: a term defined as Holy wounds inflicted on Jesus during the crucifixion.

This little handmade reliquary is my personal favorite. It's decorated with vintage ephemera, antique lace and two tiny antique German bisque doll arms that embrace an antique sterling silver Flaming Sacred Heart ex voto carved with a crown of thorns and wounds Jesus received during the crucifixion. This ex voto hangs from the center and swings freely inside to add movement.

I added glittering silver Angel's hair to give an ethereal touch which mimic silver threads often used to decorate true antique reliquaries. The text, "Faithful," and its definition are from an antique dictionary. All this soldered behind glass.

A tiny antique German Biedermeier bisque head finishes the piece. All this hangs from an antique mother of pearl rosary.

GOD BLESS AMERICA

I've been somber these past few weeks now that the tenth anniversary of 9/11 and the attack on the World Trade Center and Pentagon approaches. I remember the tragedy as if it were yesterday. That day will continue to haunt me until the day I die. May God Bless all those who died needlessly on that unforgiveable day. GOD BLESS AMERICA.
