The front is etched with a cross and, "IHS," which is a Latinized monogram acronym from the Roman 3rd Century based on Greek letters, ἸΘΣ = Ἰησοῦς, Θεος, Σωτήρ = Iēsous, Theos, Sōtēr = Jesus, God, Savior. It suspends from a 4" chain. Inside a worn and loved satin lining in purple, the color of royalty.
