Georgian Etui Double Sided Wax Seal Intaglio Cast Yellow Bronze Reproductions

I've taken ten double sided wax seal intaglios from my Georgian etui set and cast them in yellow bronze.

The casts are as follows:

1. Snail with French motto toujours chez moi (always with me), flower and butterfly with the English motto the sweetness is my life.
2. Two roosters fighting with French motto à mort (to death), Italian motto il giusto il ver la libertà sospiro (the right to breathe free).
3. Sun burst with cherub head, “Nothing without thee.” Sun, flower and hillside with Latin motto (?), “privata di te moriro”
4. Snake cut in half with French motto, ‘se rejoindre ou mourir’ translated to ‘will join or die’. Tortoise and hare with French motto, “droit chemin,” right path.
5. Lion under net speaking to mouse with English motto Patience. Italian motto dopo come avanti (after as forward).
6. Man riding an elephant with French motto la raison fait ma force (the reason is my strength). Leaf with English motto ‘I change only in death.’
7. Ivy climbing tree stump, “je meurs ou je attaché”, I die or I tied. Bee hive, “Nul n'en penetre le secret” No one penetrates into the secret.
8. Skull with the French sentiment, "J'ai ete le suis, tu seras," translated to, "As you are, so once was I." Feather with French motto toujours sincère (always sincere).
9. Harp with French motto accord sans d'harmonie pas (agreement without harmony). Shepard and sheep with French motto la raison du plus fort (the reason for the stronger).
10. Fox chasing chicken up a tree with French motto fin contre fin (end against end). Sun rising over hills with French motto je reviendrai (I will return).

ETHEREAL

Newly listed to Metal Corset is Ethereal, an assemblage necklace featuring an antique silveroid pocket watch case filled with tiny treasures including an excavated doll head, Art Deco pot metal and rhinestone wings (former earrings) and the definition of ethereal from an antique dictionary.

It suspends from an antique mother of pearl silver filigree rosary.

WAXING POETIC III

I've taken an antique porcelain doll head and soldered various antique rhinestone components to it. 

Then I suspended an Art Deco rhinestone watch pendant and attached an Art Deco rose camphor glass chain to make it into a assemblage necklace.

I love the way it turned out.  I hope you do as well....

BABY BLUE

 

Listed to Metal Corset is Baby Blue, an assemblage necklace featuring an Edwardian locket/brooch holding a tiny porcelain doll inside.  Blue can be worn as a pendant alone considering she has an original bale attached to the top of her head.

Blue lays on a bed of blue velvet, has painted cobalt blue eyes and wears a hand crocheted bobbin lace skirt.

The rear locket bale is retractable, meaning it can be moved downward hiding it when the locket is worn as a brooch.  Moved up when worn as a pendant.

It's a truly amazing all original piece. I haven't modified the locket or the porcelain doll whatsoever, other than suspending it from a Victorian gold plated book chain and sterling silver wire wrapped faceted Lapis gemstones.

ANTIQUE VICTORIAN REPRODUCTION CLASPS IN WHITE BRONZE

I picked up the first batch of reproduction castings this morning and I'm thrilled by the way they turned out.

All three came from antique Victorian watch chain clasps.

These were cast in white bronze which mimics sterling silver very well.

GEORGIAN PALAIS DOUBLE SIDED WAX SEAL ETUI SET WITH ADDITIONAL DEVICES

I was fortunate to find additional double sided wax seal intaglio devices that fit my Georgian Palais etui set.

Now there are 16 double sided wax seal intaglio devices in all or 32 impressions total.  (I believe a full set consists of 24 double sided devices.....so eight more to go.)

The extra devices (duplicates) from the etui set will soon be listed to Metal Corset II.

VICTORIAN HAND FIST TOGGLE OR T-BAR CLASP

Soon to be cast in sterling silver and bronze is this rare Victorian toggle bar (or T-bar) from a Victorian watch chain.

It depicts a closed fist holding a dumbbell.

I've never seen another like it.

VICTORIAN BLUE ENAMEL HAND AND SEED PEARL LOCKET

This is an incredible Victorian blue enamel locket depicting a hand grasping a garland set with a tiny seed pearl.

Even with the damage to the left side, it's still a beautiful and excellent representation of a Victorian era blue enamel locket.

Newly listed to Metal Corset is this assemblage necklace featuring a whimsical silver plated and leather Victorian match safe vesta depicting a highly detailed shapely female leg measuring 2.15" x 1.0".

This amazing match safe suspends from sterling silver wire wrapped Jasper beads and two different styles of antique silver plated Masonic sword chains.
