GEORGIAN PALAIS DOUBLE SIDED WAX SEAL ETUI SET WITH ADDITIONAL DEVICES

I was fortunate to find additional double sided wax seal intaglio devices that fit my Georgian Palais etui set.

Now there are 16 double sided wax seal intaglio devices in all or 32 impressions total.  (I believe a full set consists of 24 double sided devices.....so eight more to go.)

The extra devices (duplicates) from the etui set will soon be listed to Metal Corset II.

So keep a weather eye.....

VICTORIAN HAND FIST TOGGLE OR T-BAR CLASP

Soon to be cast in sterling silver and bronze is this rare Victorian toggle bar (or T-bar) from a Victorian watch chain.

It depicts a closed fist holding a dumbbell.

I've never seen another like it.

So, keep a weather eye on Metal Corset and Metal Corset II.

VICTORIAN REBUS PUZZLE INTAGLIO WAX SEAL FOB "I LOVE YOU"

Keep a weather eye on Metal Corset II for jewelry reproduced in sterling silver depicting this spectacular Victorian rebus puzzle wax seal fob.

A rebus is an illusional device that uses pictures to represent words or parts of words.

This rebus intaglio depicts an eye (I), winged cherub/cupid holding a bow (love) and a yew tree (you) = I love you.

What a great "expression of love" to give that special someone dear to heart.

GEORGIAN CHERUB GLASS WAX SEAL INTAGLIO WITH FRENCH MOTTO "JE ME FAIT UN JEU D'AGITER LES COEURS"

Here's another intriguing antique glass wax seal intaglio with an engraved depiction of a winged cherub, or cupid, spinning a two-hearted diabolo and the French motto, "JE ME FAIT UN JEU D'AGITER LES COEURS," which loosely translates to, "I make it a game to shake hearts."

A diabolo is an ancient yo-yo game developed in China during the 12th Century in which a spool is manipulated to spin while being suspended by string as seen in the 1812 illustration.

My interpretation of this intaglio is that cupid keeps lovers on their toes by shaking up or playing a game with their hearts.

Victorian Gunmetal Long Guard Chain With 95 Open Back Paste Brilliants

(SOLD)
Newly listed to Metal Corset II is this stunning antique Victorian gunmetal long guard chain with 95 fully faceted bail set paste brilliants that sparkle like diamonds.

I've owned many of these gunmetal long guard chains with paste brilliants in the past, but never one with 95. Each paste brilliant measures 5mm in diameter.

This chain does not open. A swivel clasp at one end allows you to wear it in several different ways if desired. However, this chain was intended to hang a lorgnette or muff in the Victorian days.

Absolutely stunning and excellent period piece with no issues and totally original.

These Victorian gunmetal long guard chains with paste brilliants are becoming harder to find. So this one is a rare find.

Measures 57" in length continuous not including swivel clasp.

Sainte Jeanne D'Arc

I have always had a thing for Joan of Arc ever since I can remember. When I was 7, I watched an old black and white movie on the television of Joan of Arc played by Ingrid Bergman. This movie captivated me because a woman so young died so tragically for her unrelenting beliefs. In the end, I cried my eyes out when she burned at the stake and I was stunned to learn this was a true story.

In commemoration of her, I created an assemblage necklace in her name. An antique Victorian repousse match safe vesta is combined with 2 art deco paste brooches. One a crown, the other a fleur de lis. The obverse has an antique French Sainte Jeanne D'Arc medal decorated with a fleur de lis. It suspends from an Art Deco silver filigree bead necklace. You can find it at my Etsy shop, Metal Corset.

VICTORIAN ART NOUVEAU CROWN AND CROSS PASTE LOCKET

(SOLD)
This is an exquisite antique Victorian Art Nouveau gold filled locket engraved with a cross and crown set with paste stones.

I've seen a number of paste cross lockets and paste crown lockets, but never one with both in the same design.

So this locket is a very rare and unique.

VICTORIAN GUNMETAL AND PASTE LONG GUARD OR LORGNETTE CHAIN

(SOLD)

I am thrilled to have found this beautiful antique treasure. This is an antique Victorian gunmetal and clear paste long guard or lorgnette chain with swivel clasp. It measures 60" in length and has seventy two (72) 5mm full cut round paste stones.

I've seen many of these chains before, and actually own one, but never one with as many paste stones as this chain has and I am proud to say, I own it!!!!

ESPIRITU SANTOS EARRINGS

These two beautiful antique sterling silver Saint Esprit doves were listed to Metal Corset II but expired, so I turned them into earrings.

The one on the left is an antique Georgian sterling silver paste dove with round garnet (?) cabochon eyes, and the one on the right, an antique Victorian sterling paste dove.

Both were brooches once but have now been converted into one of a kind earrings.

Both the dove and cross hang from a hand forged sterling silver earring hook.

Victorian Pinchbeck Mourning Locket Pendant with Plaited Hair Window and Turquoise

I have a real thing for these beautiful mourning locket pendants. I especially love this one because of the way the turquoise cabochons resembles a nest of robin eggs.

The mourning window containing the plaited hair is usually from a deceased loved one. However, sometimes these locket pendants were used to memorialize the living. Hard to tell.

This heart shaped mourning pendant locket in Pinchbeck is set with 3 genuine carved turquoise cabochons. Beautifully engraved in a open floral pattern. Even the loop fitting is ornately engraved.

The mourning window could be carefully removed if desired so as to replace contents within.
