DEMENG INSPIRED ASSEMBLAGE

(SOLD)

I finally created an assemblage inspired by Michael Demeng. It is named, "El Corazon." I found an old lid to an altoid tin forgotten in my junk box. It's rusted with an accumulation of past attempts in making something, not sure what. As you can see, the text spells out Corazone, because the piece looks as though it hails from another zone.

VINTAGE REPRODUCTION GERMAN BISQUE DOLL HEAD

I recently made a mold of one of my vintage German doll heads. I then produced some polymer clay heads using the mold. After curing them I antiqued them and made an assemblage piece using one of the heads. It now lives in my Etsy shop.

DEMENG

I've recently been very inspired by Michael Demeng's assemblage art. It is absolutely astounding what he creates with found objects. I would like to be able to create assemblage art like him when I grow up. I found a doll head recently and I'm dying to create an assemblage piece especially with this newly inspired creative energy flowing through me. Here are some pieces Michael Demeng has created. I wanted to share them with you so you could appreciate his fascinating creativity too.

ASSEMBLAGE SHRINE

I had a lot of fun putting this little assemblage shrine together. Lately. I've been limited in buying supplies, so I've been forced to use the supplies I already have. And because of this, I've been creating a few pieces here and there, and found, I don't need to rush out to purchase supplies in order to create something beautiful; I already have the pieces right here.

Wooden Cow Gallery

I was recently notified by Wooden Cow Gallery that my artwork was juried into the "Altered Visions" show. My artwork will appear during the Artscrawl weekend with a reception. How fun! The only problem....I've already sold one of the pieces. Opps. I'll bring another item instead....I hope it'll be okay.
Below are the items entered into the "Altered Visions" show.

Amulet/Talisman Pouch

This leather pouch was hand dyed and hand painted. A turquoise donut is the focal point with a hammered copper spiral. The beaded fringe is composed of triangular and octagenal shaped beads.

Shrink Art With A Southwestern Flair

I used acrylic paint on most of these shrink art pins. For embellishment, I incorporated hammered copper and turquoise.

Spirits Among Us

This acrylic painting hangs in my den/living room. My parents purchased two leather sofas as a gift after graduating with my bachelor's. The color of the sofas are very rich terra-cotta, so I needed to compliment them somehow. I took an artist canvas that I had previously painted on and painted over it. I used a palette knife, and came up with this very abstract masterpiece.

Polymer Clay

Polymer clay is a medium I use in almost all my artwork. Often times I create objects of beauty, other times I use it as a filler. I enjoyed creating these polymer clay items below, however, they were very time consuming and tedious. The items photographed on red leather is a process called, "Mokume Gane." The turquoise pieces were burnished and soldered.

Shrink art is a very versatile medium. It can be stamped on, painted on, printed on, embossed on, etc. Using Victorian images and found-objects I've created these very unusual pins.

Anthropomorphic Mixed Media Art

Petroglyphs have always been a part of the Southwest. The images have intrigued me and continue to remain enigmatic. It has longed been viewed that petroglyphs are some type of language, if so, what do they say? My visual representation of these petroglyphs are photographed below. They speak to me in a language that I can understand. Do they speak to you too?
