Victorian Nun's Cross Rosary

(SOLD)

Here's a rare antique French sterling silver corrugated bead rosary with an antique Victorian engraved sterling silver Nun's cross.

This rosary is stunning right down to the sterling silver spun filigree rosary center.

This Nun's cross is engraved in French, 15 Aout 1855, E.Leleu de Marie Assosiation. (15 August 1855). Also engraved are 2 hearts, one pierced by a sword, the other a cross.

A small enamel Miraculous Mary medal delicately suspends from the rosary.

Antique Sacred Heart Meerschaum Reliquary

(SOLD)

Here's one of the most beautiful and rare carved religious French meerschaum reliquaries I've seen in a long time and now listed at Metal Corset II.

This carved meerschaum reliquary highlights a veiled Mary kneeling in prayer holding a Flaming Heart wrapped in a crown of roses.

It is very rare to find a Flaming Heart held in the hand versus a Flaming Heart on the chest.

Absolutely exquisite period piece behind convex glass. The brass frame is engraved in a paisley floral scroll design and is further accentuated by twisted brass.

Le Sacre Coeur de Marie (SOLD)

My most recent creation, Le Sacre Coeur de Marie.

From an antique lace holy card, an assemblage of the Sacred Heart of Mary is captured inside an antique two sided Victorian sterling silver paste locket. The reverse has an image of The Sacred Heart of Mary wrapped in a crown of roses.

The locket suspends from an antique Victorian sterling silver bangle. The bracelet is further embellished with an antique Miraculous Mary medal and flaming heart ex voto.

ANTIQUE FRENCH NOTRE DAME RELIQUARY

I recently found this beautiful French iconic reliquary detailed in several fleurs de lis. The doors open to reveal Miraculous Mary in a long flowing gown holding a rosary. The top has N and D for Notre Dame (French for Our Lady) and a crown. It measures 2.5" tall. What a superb 19th century relic.

STIGMATA

"I bear on my body the marks of Jesus," taken from the last line of Saint Paul's letter to the Galatians.

Stigmata: a term defined as Holy wounds inflicted on Jesus during the crucifixion.

This little handmade reliquary is my personal favorite. It's decorated with vintage ephemera, antique lace and two tiny antique German bisque doll arms that embrace an antique sterling silver Flaming Sacred Heart ex voto carved with a crown of thorns and wounds Jesus received during the crucifixion. This ex voto hangs from the center and swings freely inside to add movement.

I added glittering silver Angel's hair to give an ethereal touch which mimic silver threads often used to decorate true antique reliquaries. The text, "Faithful," and its definition are from an antique dictionary. All this soldered behind glass.

A tiny antique German Biedermeier bisque head finishes the piece. All this hangs from an antique mother of pearl rosary.

GOD BLESS AMERICA

I've been somber these past few weeks now that the tenth anniversary of 9/11 and the attack on the World Trade Center and Pentagon approaches. I remember the tragedy as if it were yesterday. That day will continue to haunt me until the day I die. May God Bless all those who died needlessly on that unforgiveable day. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

WIND BENEATH MY WINGS

(SOLD)
Newly listed to Metal Corset is this gorgeous religious assemblage necklace which I created by combining an Art Deco sterling silver paste Saint Esprit dove brooch and antique French 1800s Flaming Sacred Heart Ex Voto Reliquary.

The antique French Flaming Sacred Heart Ex Voto reliquary was used to house devotional messages inside and placed on a Saint in a place of worship and is very rare.

GEORGIAN EUROPEAN SILVER PASTE DROP CROSS PENDANT/BROOCH

Newly listed to Metal CorsetII is this exquisite and rare paste drop cross pendant/brooch.

This ornately designed Georgian cross features several European hand cut foil backed paste stones set in sterling silver. The drop articulates from the center highlighting a large pear shaped paste stone.

The pinback is a later Victorian addition allowing it to be worn as either a pendant or brooch.

It is in almost perfect condition which is very rare for a piece more than 200 years old. What a find!

NOUVEAU MARY

(SOLD)

I had a lot of fun creating this one of a kind assemblage necklace featuring an antique Victorian Art Nouveau repousse frame.

The assemblage artwork under mica is an image of the Sacred Heart of Mary from an antique holy card.

The handmade chain consists of sterling silver wire wrapped vintage crystal rondelles, faux pearls and silver filigree beads.

He Sleeps

I've been having a blast creating these assemblage necklaces using reproduction flaming sacred heart vessels adorned with antique paste jewelry and religious images from antique lace holy cards. What a combination!

This one is embellished with an antique Art Deco paste heart pendant. Inside is an image of Mary from an antique lace holy card lovingly gazing down at Babe Jesus as He sleeps.

It hangs from a heavy vintage silver tone chain.

Sainte Jeanne D'Arc

I have always had a thing for Joan of Arc ever since I can remember. When I was 7, I watched an old black and white movie on the television of Joan of Arc played by Ingrid Bergman. This movie captivated me because a woman so young died so tragically for her unrelenting beliefs. In the end, I cried my eyes out when she burned at the stake and I was stunned to learn this was a true story.

In commemoration of her, I created an assemblage necklace in her name. An antique Victorian repousse match safe vesta is combined with 2 art deco paste brooches. One a crown, the other a fleur de lis. The obverse has an antique French Sainte Jeanne D'Arc medal decorated with a fleur de lis. It suspends from an Art Deco silver filigree bead necklace. You can find it at my Etsy shop, Metal Corset.

Sacred Heart Medals

The newest additions to my Sacred Heart medals collection. Both are absolutely stunning French antiques.

The larger one is a Sacred Immaculate Heart of Mary. Around the edge are French words, "Mere De Misericorde Prier Pour Nous," which translates to, "Mother of Mercy Pray For Us."

The smaller one is a French flaming heart ex voto. I believe this piece represented hope, faith and charity at one time, but the anchor is missing.

VICTORIAN ART NOUVEAU CROWN AND CROSS PASTE LOCKET

(SOLD)
This is an exquisite antique Victorian Art Nouveau gold filled locket engraved with a cross and crown set with paste stones.

I've seen a number of paste cross lockets and paste crown lockets, but never one with both in the same design.

So this locket is a very rare and unique.
