This is one of the most impressive wax seal fob intaglios from my collection.
It depicts two doves or love birds tying a love knot above an ocean with a ship in the background.
The French motto above, "le plus loin le plus serré" translates to, "the farther I fly, the tighter I tie."
I love the wonderful mottos engraved into these antique wax seals. The fine detail alone is breathtaking.
This one represents friendship or distant love.
